How to Restore a Frozen/Banned Shopee Account

If your Shopee account has suddenly been frozen/banned, it can be a worrying experience, especially if you’re unsure how to fix it. Before looking into restoration methods, it's important for shop owners to understand the common reasons for account got banned or frozen:

  1. Logging into Multiple Accounts on One Device One major reason for account locks is accessing multiple Shopee accounts from the same device. This can trigger the system to flag your account.

  2. Exceeding 15 Violation Points If you have a shop on Shopee, keep an eye on your Shop Performance and Account Health. Accumulating 15 violation points can result in a 28-day account lock.

  3. Improper Shop Name Shopee prohibits sellers from using names similar to official accounts, such as ABCShopee or Shopeesg. Violating this rule can lead to account suspension. Avoid names resembling other platforms like Lazada or Tiktok as well.

  4. Listing Identical Products Across Multiple Accounts New sellers may create multiple accounts to list the same products. If detected, Shopee will lock all related accounts.

  5. Listing the Same Product in Different Categories Many sellers mistakenly list the same product multiple times under different categories. For instance, listing a men's wallet under both "Men's Fashion" and "Accessories" can lead to a lock.

  6. Identical Product Listings If you list several products with minimal differences in details like descriptions, categories, prices, or images—this could also result in an account lock.

  7. Abusing Discounts and Promotions Shopee frequently offers discounts and promotions. If you use multiple Shopee accounts from the same device or IP to exploit these offers, the system may lock all accounts involved.

Whether a frozen/banned Shopee account can be restored depends on the reason for the lock:

  • Temporarily Frozen Accounts: These can be restored.

  • Permanently Banned Accounts: These cannot be reopened, and you will need to create a new account.

Once you understand the reasons for the lock, you can follow these steps to recover your Shopee account:

1. Try Logging In Again After 10 Days or Use a Different Device.

If the Lock is Due to a Technical Issue, Try One of the Following:

  • Use a different device to log into your account.

  • Attempt to log in again on your old device after 10 days from the date your Shopee account was locked.

2. Contact Shopee Customer Service For assistance in unlocking your account, you can directly reach out to Shopee's customer service. Go to the Live Chat section to chat with a technician and request them to open a case for you. Once they receive your information, Shopee will process it and respond within 48 working hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays).

3. For Violations Exceeding 15 Points If your account is locked due to having over 15 violation points, you can go to the Account Health section and submit an appeal for any errors that are not your fault, along with supporting evidence. If they approve your appeal and reduce your violation points, your shop will be restored.

When Does a Shopee Account Get Permanently Banned?

As mentioned earlier, a permanently banned account cannot be restored. Here are the situations that can lead to a permanent ban on your Shopee account:

  • Failing to request account recovery within 30 days of receiving the first notification of the frozen or ban.

  • Submitting a recovery request that the system does not accept.

  • Engaging in account creation, login, or transactions through unverified methods such as VPNs, emulators, or similar tools.

Wishing you good luck and hoping you successfully restore your Shopee account!
